Configure scoring, timers, attempts, randomization, and feedback
Understand which Configure setting changes scoring, navigation, timing, repeat attempts, answer order, and what respondents see after submission.
Before you start
Sign in as the owner of the quiz you want to manage. Preview and read-only information may be broader, but lifecycle, settings, distribution, and result actions enforce owner access.
Work through the product
On Configure, set a 0–100 passing score, optional whole-quiz timer, multiple-attempt policy and cap, retake-only-if-failed rule, question-order randomization, feedback, result visibility, and back navigation. Page timers are edited on their pages and option randomization belongs to each question. Save, then preview because timers and hidden results can materially change the taker experience.
Expected result
Respondents see the intended order, timing, attempt rules, and feedback, while the author can verify the same behavior in Preview before publishing.
Limits, privacy, and control
Exports and result PDFs can contain identities and submitted answers. Share them only with authorized recipients and remember that extended analytics and XLSX require Premium or above.
Troubleshooting
If a control is unavailable, confirm that you own the quiz, have the required organization role, and are within the current plan limits. Save the current tab before moving on, then preview the quiz with a test response before inviting respondents.
