Set up AI in QuizMachine
AI question generation and question review are available on Premium and higher plans, or to administrators regardless of plan. Every generated question remains an editable draft until you save it.
You use your own AI provider key. The provider bills you directly for every request: QuizMachine does not pay for, resell or include AI usage in any plan, and never switches to a platform key when yours is missing, invalid or out of credit. You are responsible for the provider's charges, limits, credentials and terms.
Prerequisites
- An account or organization on the Premium, Enterprise, or Enterprise+ plan, unless you are an administrator.
- An API key for a supported provider, with billing/quota and access to the model you intend to use.
- The provider's API endpoint and model identifier, if you are not using its default.
Configure a quiz
- Open the quiz and select the Configure tab.
- Under AI evaluation for free-text questions, choose a provider and enter its model, endpoint, and API key.
- Optionally configure up to three enabled providers as fallbacks.
- Click Test configuration, then Save AI settings.
- Return to the question dialog. Generate with AI will be ready when the quiz has a working provider.
API keys are encrypted at rest and are never shown again after saving. AI requests may be
chargeable by the provider, and fallback providers may receive the same request after a failure.
